The History of Tanzanite
Tanzanite has a remarkably modern history, discovered in Tanzania in the 20th century. Despite its recent arrival, its rich blue-violet tones quickly captured global attention. Its single-source origin makes it especially distinctive in contemporary jewellery.
Natural Origins & Characteristics
Tanzanite forms under unique geological conditions involving heat, pressure, and trace elements such as vanadium. Its colour can shift between blue, violet, and purple depending on light and viewing angle. It is found exclusively in a small area of northern Tanzania.

Tanzanite by Cellini
We select tanzanite for its rich blue-violet colour and subtle shifts in tone. Designs are kept clean and balanced to allow the stone’s colour changes to be seen clearly. Each piece highlights tanzanite’s distinctive appeal.

Care & Craftsmanship
Tanzanite ranks 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale and is best worn with care. It should be protected from impact and harsh cleaning. Our craftsmanship ensures each tanzanite isset securely while allowing its colour to shine.
