Diamond

Diamond, the birthstone for April, is the hardest natural substance on Earth, known for its brilliant sparkle. Found in volcanic pipes around the world, diamonds come in a variety of colours, with the most sought-after being colourless or near-colourless, making them an iconic choice for bespoke jewellery.

Origins & Characteristics

Admired since ancient India for their strength and protective qualities, diamonds have long symbolised commitment and endurance worldwide. Diamonds are formed under extreme pressure and heat deep within the earth’s mantle over billions of years. Composed entirely of carbon, their exceptional hardness sets them apart from all other gemstones. They are sourced from regions such as Botswana, South Africa, Canada, and Russia.

The Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) is an international certification system established in 2003 to prevent conflict diamonds, also known as blood diamonds from entering the global supply chain. Every rough diamond traded under the scheme must be accompanied by a certificate confirming it has been mined and traded in compliance with strict ethical standards, free from any association with conflict zones, violence, or human rights abuses. It is a collaborative effort between governments, industry, and civil society, providing consumers with the trust and transparency they deserve when purchasing a diamond.

Our Commitment to the Kimberley Process

We source exclusively from suppliers who participate in the Kimberley Process, guaranteeing that every diamond we sell is conflict-free, fully traceable from mine to market, and aligned with international efforts to end the trade in conflict diamonds. For us, adherence to the Kimberley Process isn't just a standard, it's a reflection of our core values of integrity, transparency, and responsible sourcing. When you purchase a diamond from Cellini, you can do so with complete confidence and a clear conscience.

Diamonds by Cellini

Cellini diamonds are chosen for their cut, clarity, and overall balance. Each stone is assessed individually and matched to a design that suits its proportions. This careful approach ensures every piece feels thoughtful and well crafted.

Diamond Care

Diamonds rank 10 on the Mohs scale, making them the hardest natural gemstone. While highly durable, they can still chip if struck sharply.

Craftsmanship

Cellini settings are carefully engineered to protect the stone while allowing maximum light to pass through.
